Many of the most successful website designs involve parallax scrolling, responsive layouts, and animations. However all these are secondary, In my opinion the navigation is what makes your website great. You have to make your website easy for visitors to navigate and find information within 10 seconds. Your visitors must understand that the product or service you offer to them is beneficial for them and they needs it.

Hence, you should avoid hiding all the key details on your website and don’t group all the options into one tab. In such cases, a visitor will find it more difficult to get the information they seek. You will confuse your visitor if you hide the navigation, as they will not know where they are and how to get back to the original page on which they were originally. Having the navigation at the top is always a good idea so that the visitors can just hover over it with their mouse to see all the information your website offers.

Focus on your homepage

A website’s home page must be your focus while designing it. Before designing the homepage you should ask yourself few question like which area of the home page would, you like to get the attention of visitors. Do you know why people visit your website? What makes it memorable? Why do you keep coming back? How do you break your website into sections, like sections of a book?

Most people make the mistake of focusing on too many things when designing a website. I have come across websites that utilize various techniques to grab attention, such as logos, telephone numbers, call-to-action buttons, etc. A website that attempts to grab a visitor’s attention with too many elements will not succeed, according to me. Everything else should be secondary and only your brand motto should be the focus. A short video explaining the essence of your brand is another thing you can include in your homepage. However, you have to remember that your brand motto will be at the top of your video, so you should use a darker video to prevent it from making the text difficult to read.
