Harley-Davidson has released the first image of X440 ahead of its next-week launch in India. A few details – hardware and other features – about the upcoming model have tumbled out, which make us believe that the new launch will be put against the Royal Enfield motorcycle. However, the company did not reveal too much about X440.
Let us start with its engine. The image shows a single-cylinder, air/oil cooled 440cc engine. A six-speed gearbox is to be paired with the engine that will expectedly have a tremendous power of 30HP.
On the style front, Harley-Davidson XR1200 has been a source of inspiration for the upcoming X440. The bike features a round LED headlight along with an integrated LED DRL, LED turn indicator, LED taillights, round-shaped rear-view mirrors, a flat handlebar and a fully-digital, centrally mounted round instrument cluster.
From the image, we can safely assume that the instrument cluster does not have a Bluetooth connectivity option. However, we believe that it is likely to be available as an optional feature. The tail section looks stubby and the tear-shaped fuel tank has angular edges.
Unlike X350, designed for the international markets, this India-spec model flaunts off a stylish look for the alloy wheels. The image shows a 4XX plate, which drops a hint that the bike could pack about 400-450cc of displacement.
The spec sheet also includes dual rear springs, upside-down front forks and disc brakes with ByBre-sourced callipers on the motor’s both wheels. The bike features 17-inch wheels shod in CEAT Zoom tyres.
